PCS360 launches new training on Alternative Methods and In Silico Tools for Cosmetics Safety

EFfCI is delighted to announce the launch of a new practical training course by PCS360, developed in partnership with CEPRA and ProtoQSAR: “Alternative Methods & In Silico Tools for Ingredients Cosmetic Safety.”

The course responds to a growing demand within the cosmetics industry for professionals capable of confidently evaluating chemical compound safety using cutting-edge computational approaches. In silico models represent a transformative shift in toxicology, offering a pathway to reduce animal testing, lower resource costs, and accelerate development timelines, all while ensuring rigorous compliance with European regulatory frameworks.

Over three intensive sessions (October 27, 29, and November 3), each lasting 1.5 hours, participants will gain hands-on experience with industry-standard computational tools including QSARToolbox (QT), Toxtree, and ProtoPRED®. The curriculum is structured around three core pillars: understanding the regulatory framework for alternative methods, mastering practical toxicological prediction through QSAR and read-across techniques, and grasping the fundamentals of computational chemistry and its applications.

The course is designed for regulatory affairs specialists, product developers, R&D professionals, and compliance teams, anyone responsible for ingredient safety assessments. No prior knowledge of computational chemistry is required. Participants will receive a certificate of participation upon completion.
