Ingredients of Natural Origin

The Ingredients of Natural Origin (INO) Working Group is dedicated to products of natural origin such as plant extracts, hydrolysed proteins, vegetable oils and fermentation-based products.

Given the specific character of these ingredients, the relevant regulatory requirements and safety aspects are examined by the Working Group.


The Working Group is currently monitoring the regulatory framework with regard to the ISO definition of natural ingredients and to the biodiversity International treaties as implemented in Europe through the ABS regulation (Reg. EC 511/2014).
